Things to Do
Corrie ten Boom’s House is located approximately 40 minutes from the hotel. We reserved 40 spaces on Friday morning, May 5, to visit the House. We have reserved 20 spaces for 10:00 and 20 spaces for 11:30. We were unable to reserve spaces for Saturday afternoon due to the House policy of not reserving for groups on Saturday but if individuals want to try to visit the House on Saturday they can. We cannot guarantee entrance but it may be possible. There is no charge to visit the House but donations are appreciated. (It would be helpful to either read the Hiding Place or watch the movie to give you a more meaningful experience.) You will need to provide your own transportation to and from the Corrie ten Boom House.
Keukenhof Tulip Gardens
We are offering a bus trip to Keukenhof Gardens on Saturday afternoon.
The Keukenhof theme for 2017 is “Dutch Design”. You won’t want to miss these beautiful gardens full of tulips and perfectly groomed flowers! We have hired buses to transport us to and from the gardens. To save time, the hotel will provide everyone a boxed lunch containing 2 sandwiches, a bag of chips, two pieces of fruit, a candy bar and one bottle of water. We will be at the gardens for approximately 3.5 hours. Departure from the hotel will be 12:30, returning at 17:00. The cost is 22€ which covers admission to the Gardens and transportation.
Prayer Walk in Amsterdam
We are privileged to have Lauran Bethell joining us to lead a seminar Saturday morning. Lauran is a global consultant on human trafficking. Her main goal is to initiate and encourage new grass-roots projects addressing the exploitation and abuse of women and children, many of whom are victims of trafficking. On Saturday afternoon, Lauran will lead a prayer walk through the red light district in Amsterdam. She asks that any who want to join the walk please attend her seminar so they will have the background information needed. Lauran will lead the group by public transportation into Amsterdam. After the walk those interested can join Lauran for coffee at the restaurant “Dignita” which is run by the organization “Not for Sale” as a “social enterprise”–a training program for women who have been victims of human trafficking. For more information on Lauran you can click here. To save time, the hotel will provide everyone a boxed lunch containing 2 sandwiches, a bag of chips, two pieces of fruit, a candy bar and one bottle of water. Departure from the hotel will be 13.00, returning about 17:00.The cost is 12€ which covers transportation to and from the hotel. You are free to have dinner on your own in the city after the walk.
