Executive Council Meets for Final Time

Dec 22, 2016

The final Executive Council (EC) of the International Baptist Convention met 13 September via teleconferencing.  Under the new structure of the convention, the Executive Council and Executive Sub-Council will be replaced by the Executive Leadership Team.

The EC reviewed the 2017 budget recommendation from the Budget and Finance Ministry Team and endorsed the budget recommendation. The budget is within the projected income for 2016, based on August figures.

The EC also approved that the Together We Build portion of the Global Missions Offering go to Immanuel Baptist Church, Wiesbaden, Germany, to replace the heating system at the church.  The Global Missions Offering will again have three recipients:  European Baptist Mission (30%), Together We Build (40%), and Aid and Relief (formerly Urgent Needs, 30%).

The EC also approved the recommendation for changes to the constitution to be approved by the convention at the ACM.  The changes were also the result of the restructuring changes.  The EC also approved the new Operations Manual.

In addition to the action taken, the EC heard reports from General Secretary Jimmy Martin on his work and contact with churches.
