San Jose, Costa Rica

Camp La Cumbre is an annual church camp that the International Baptist Church, San Jose, Costa Rica, hosts every year. It is open to any camper as long as you’re between the ages 9-18 — English speakers or Spanish speakers. Our main purpose at camp is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

This year our guest speaker was Wade Hopkins, an ex-NFL player, from Houston, Texas (USA). The Spanish speaker was IBC’s Associate Pastor Joe Sanchez. Camp was kicked off to an amazing start! The first night a young Spanish camper accepted Christ in his heart. The week continued with great lessons from our pastors, amazing worship sessions, and great outdoor activities. During the day, campers went on hikes to see waterfalls; participated in team-building games; fearlessly completed the ropes course; played volleyball, basketball, and Ga-Ga ball; climbed the rock wall; and some were crazy enough to jump in the freezing cold river that runs through La Cumbre.     All-in-all we had an amazing time worshiping, serving, and spreading the message of our great Lord.
