Building Connections Strategy Director
Scott serves as pastor of IBC Berlin, Germany. He grew up as a third-culture, missionary kid in Indonesia where he became a Jesus follower and accepted God’s call to the pastoral ministry. He studied theology at the International Baptist Theological Seminary (Rüschlikon, Switzerland) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed his M.Div. in Pastoral Studies and Ph.D. in Christian Ethics. He has served churches in Indonesia, USA, Switzerland, and has been at IBC Berlin, Germany, since July 2008 where disciple-making through intentional relationships is his preoccupation.
Scott is a husband, father, friend, and pastor. He and his wife, Laurie, enjoy sharing meals with friends, traveling to new places, and watching movies together. They have one adult daughter who lives in China with her husband. Scott is a “mountain biker” who rides with the German Baptist Racing Team, reads philosophical theology, listens to Texas blues rock, and loves the night sky.
Scott’s vision for Building Connections is of mobilizing and multiplying disciple-making churches by connecting leaders, churches, and great commission organizations in collaborative partnerships to further God’s Kingdom purpose through the church.
