Naples, Italy

Il Faro International Baptist Church, Naples, Italy, is nearly back to its pre-Covid level of activity. Small groups for men and women resumed this fall, as did Neapolitan cooking classes. Several men attended a retreat at the Isola Evangelical Center in Abruzzo. Additionally, Il Faro participated in two unique events. In October, the Alba Run for Recovery raised money and awareness for the Alba Safe House and Recovery Program, which will minister to survivors of sexual exploitation. And in November, Il Faro hosted “Unashamed,” a one-day conference with Christian counselor Emanuele Di Maio. It’s an exciting time to be working for the Lord in Naples!

The third annual Alba Run for Recovery happened the weekend of 15-16 October. Il Faro International Baptist Church, Naples, Italy put together a team to run (some walked) in support of this important fundraiser and to help raise awareness around the issue of human trafficking here in Italy.

The group met in Villaggio Coppola on Saturday afternoon with everyone wearing their Alba Run for Recovery t-shirts. Before the run they heard a little bit about the Alba Safe House and Recovery Program project and the need for a safe house in Italy that provides a place of true recovery, restoration, and reintegration for survivors of sexual exploitation. The group prayed together, took pictures, and then completed their run.

The Il Faro family raised funds to help support Alba and also, by their presence together in the center of Villaggio Coppola, raised awareness regarding this very important issue.
